Tree & Forest is a family run business aimed at helping people successfully manage trees on any type of property or forests, both for investment purposes and to enhance aesthetics and maintain healthy and safe trees.
Patrick Hill began Tree & Forest Ltd after working in the silviculture industry for 10 years: He began on the tools at the age of 17, working for a small company based near Nelson. After quickly discovering a passion for the industry Patrick progressed to a Foreman role in 2010 and begun learning the leadership skills he needed to start his own company which became his next objective and in 2016 this came to fruition.
After much success in the Forestry sector, Patrick wanted to expand the reach of his business into Arboriculture. So in September 2017 Patrick was joined by his cousin Hamilton to manage the Arboriculture side of things.
Hamilton studied for two years at Sparsholt College in the UK where he received a Distinction and ‘Best overall performance’ awards for his Extended Diploma in Forestry & Arboriculture. He began work part-time as a groundsman working for an Arb Approved company in the UK.
He then progressed into climbing and has worked as a freelance climber and remained self-employed for a number of years, constantly developing his skills and knowledge attained at college.
Both Patrick and Hamilton are easy going with a positive mentality and a passion for the outdoors and working with trees.
The business has a sustainable approach to management ensuring work is done as efficiently as possible and recycling or reusing any waste produced from arboriculture.
